Director - Writer
EJ SALCEDO has lived half his life in the Philippines and in the United States. An advertising graduate from the University of Houston, he was a member of the school’s 1995 National Advertising Champions. His wealth of varied experience include serving in the U.S. Air Force to working at J. Walter Thompson Manila as a copywriter where he won Rookie of the year; and a nomination for an Araw Award.
After a year of film school in 2000, E.J. put up a production house called Brass Knuckles Inc. with fellow director Topel Lee. Here, he currently produces, writes and directs various short-films, TVCs and award winning corporate and music videos.
His first personal writing/directing project is a short film called Talahib –In 2007, the work garnered a Gawad Urian Nomination for best short film.
EJ’s most recent work, a full-length film entitled Third World Happy in the 2010 Cinema One Originals gave Jodi Sta. Maria a Best Supporting Actress Win and garnered Sam Milby a Best Actor Nomination in the festival and at the Gawad Urian. Third World Happy was also nominated for Best Screenplay and was invited at the 2011 Jeonju International Film Festival and was again nominated for a NETPAC Best Asian Film Award.
